Therapeutic Approach
Blake integrates evidence-based and experiential approaches to therapy, combining structure with creativity to support emotional insight and practical change. His work includes:
Gottman Method–informed couples therapy to improve communication, conflict management, and connection
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Â to address thought and behavior patterns
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)Â to support values-based living
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Â skills for emotional regulation and coping
Blake values flexibility in therapy and adapts sessions to fit each client’s learning style, interests, and comfort level.
Therapeutic Game Master & Experiential Therapy
Blake is trained as a Therapeutic Game Master, integrating tabletop role-playing games—such as Dungeons & Dragons—into the therapeutic process. Through cooperative storytelling, problem-solving, and emotional world-building, clients can work toward therapeutic goals in a creative, engaging, and relational setting.
This experiential approach can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, social isolation, or loneliness, as well as those who benefit from non-traditional or hands-on therapy formats. Role-playing therapy allows clients to explore emotions, practice communication, build confidence, and develop coping skills in ways that feel accessible and meaningful.
Blake is currently developing tabletop role-playing therapy groups, with offerings expected to launch later this year.
Neurodiversity & LGBTQ+ Affirming Care
Blake has specialized training in working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those who identify as neurodivergent. His approach is neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and respectful of each client’s lived experience.
As an LGBTQ+ ally and member of the community, Blake is committed to providing affirming care that honors identity, autonomy, and personal values.
Therapy Dog Support
Blake’s therapy dog, Blue, joins sessions when appropriate, offering an added layer of comfort, grounding, and emotional support. Blue’s presence can be especially helpful for clients navigating grief, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm.
What Clients Can Expect
Clients working with Blake can expect a therapist who is:
Warm, affirming, and inclusive
Creative and flexible in approach
Grounded in evidence-based care
Collaborative and client-centered
Blake works alongside clients to help them build resilience, insight, and meaningful change in a way that feels supportive and engaging.
